Trans Healthcare Action
Trans Healthcare Action is a grassroots organisation that offers a space for transgender and gender diverse people, as well as allies, to come together and campaign for access to healthcare services.
Upon accepting the award, which the team called an “absolute honour”, Trans Healthcare Action acknowledged: “We really shouldn’t have to do this work, but we appreciate being recognised for it.”
They added: “The current system of trans healthcare is failing us. Our work to change that is not yet done. We need an informed consent model in community and primary healthcare settings created in collaboration with the trans community.”
