LGBTQ+ EMPLOYEE RESOURCE GROUP
AWARD RECIPIENT
Proud to Work for Ireland Network (PWIN)
PWIN is a group of civil and public service LGBTQ+ staff networks and ED&I groups who work together to promote a safe and inclusive environment for public servants in the country. This year, the team ran social meet-ups that foster a network of peer support across civil service departments, and organised participation in the Dublin Pride parade.
When accepting the award, Dale, a PWIN spokesperson, said that while the civil and public service may not have a reputation for being the most progressive, when they joined, they promised to jump in with both feet and be visibly non-binary and transgender.
Dale added: “I wanted everyone in the civil service to feel welcome so we can actually represent society as it is. With a full spectrum of diversity.”
