COMMUNITY ORG - PAID STAFF
AWARD RECIPIENT
The Rainbow Project
The Rainbow Project has spent decades supporting LGBTQ+ people across the North of Ireland, while campaigning for equality and social change. Its work spans sexual health services, training, policy advocacy and direct support for people experiencing discrimination, making it an important part of the infrastructure supporting the North’s LGBTQ+ community.
Accepting the award, representatives thanked the NXF for the nomination and also acknowledged the other organisations shortlisted alongside them, praising them for doing a “fantastic job” in their communities. Their words reflected the collaborative nature of LGBTQ+ organising, recognising not only The Rainbow Project’s own work, but the wider network of people and organisations across Ireland working towards equality.
