LGBTQ+ EMPLOYEE RESOURCE GROUP
AWARD RECIPIENT
Dublin City Council LGBTQ+ Committee
Set up in 2013, Dublin City Council LGBTQ+ Committee has grown from a confidential peer support group into a strategic and influential force shaping inclusion, equality and belonging across one of Ireland’s largest public sector organisations. The network has influenced policies and practices that directly affect employees’ lives, from securing recognition of Civil Partners within pension schemes to ensuring inclusive updates to Compassionate Leave and Force Majeure policies. They have also worked to ensure that trans and non-binary colleagues are meaningfully recognised and supported through the Gender Identity and Expression Policy. The network additionally authored Dublin City Council’s first LGBT+ Employee Inclusion Strategy in 2017 and continues to lead and shape its implementation, including the 2025 to 2029 strategy. Accepting the award, the team said, “It was so great to be nominated; to win it is even better.”
