Poet In Motion

Mark Ward, sure to be a familiar face to lovers of queer cabaret in Dublin, is releasing his first book of poems - Circumference. When Mark isn’t entertaining lovers of drag, burlesque and musicals as part of the fabulous all-singing, all-dancing UnderCURRENT troupe, he’s also found time to create Impossible Archetype, a journal of LGBT+ poetry, and pen some beautiful pieces dealing with queer love for this new volume.

Circumference is a collection of poems dealing with a man coming home to visit his dying father. Upon his return, he’s forced to relive his teenage years, remember the boy he once loved, and come face to face with the family he left behind.

In a review for the volume, Bryan Borland, he says: “Ward has chronicled something aching and timeless in this collection: the weight of the legacies we carry, and the pull of the lives we invent for ourselves.”

Sounds like a winner to us.
