We Asked The Team
Seeing as we’ve been 30 years in publication
BRIAN
To me GCN has always been about building a sense of belonging, and bolstering that feeliing of community through being self-confident, open to new things, and always representing of the myriad points of view within that community. Plus, it’s my baby.
LISA
Working with a fantastic team on a most fabulous queer publication that represents the rich diversity of our LGBT+ community and makes me feel proud every day.
KATIE
GCN is not just about acceptance, but the celebration of all the wonderful things that make up our queer community. It is a reflection of a society that is so often straight-washed and it is such an important keepsake to me, of the past and present.
STEFANO
We don’t have a national LGBT+ publication in Italy so working for GCN means a lot to me, since Ireland is my second home. It makes me proud of what I do, knowing we make a difference.
PETER
GCN makes me feel more connected to my community and my country. Over the years it’s been a valued source of information and entertainment, its articles starting many conversations. Never would I have thought that I’d eventually be lucky enough to work here.
SEÁN
Dear 18 year-old Seán, that GCN you’re sheepishly swiping and stuffing into your bag – some day you’ll be working for that magazine, proud of who you are.
DAVE
Day-to-day it means I get to work with a team I really admire, and that I really love being part of. More broadly speaking, my time in GCN has definitely made me much more socially, culturally and politically aware. I’m really proud to help put out such an important publication.
ELLY
The best inauguration into Ireland’s amazing queer community one could ever hope for. As lucky as I am to work at GCN, no one’s luckier than Ireland for having it!
