LGBT+ EMPLOYEE RESOURCE GROUP
AWARD RECIPIENT
Boston Scientific Clonmel ERG
For several years, Boston Scientific has had an ERG Pride Committee dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ employees and their families.
By organising LGBTQ+ events throughout the year and providing LGBTQ+ awareness training from the CEO down to line supervisors, they have created a work environment where members of the community are confident to be themselves. In accepting their award, their spokesperson said, “This award means so much to us as a company,” and added that they strive for all their employees “to be able to bring their true selves to work everyday”.
NOMINEES
WithPride Bank of Ireland
Bank of Ireland established the WithPride employee support network to promote inclusion and diversity across the group. Through their partnerships with Belong To and HIV Ireland, and sponsorship of the Emerald Warriors, they aim to expand their support for the community both internally and externally.
Department of Justice LGBT+ Staff Network
The LGBT+ Staff Network supports employees not only within the Department of Justice but also across other departments and agencies within the Civil Service. They also undertook the Department’s first LGBT+ Staff Survey to provide data about the number of LGBTQ+ staff members and their experiences on the job.
G-Force
Founded in 2007 by members of An Garda Síochána, G-Force strives to be a safe and supportive group for LGBTQ+ members of the force and their families. Despite still not being recognised as an official network within An Garda Síochána, the volunteers in G-Force have been working hard to encourage and support queer members to be themselves for over 16 years.
