The Godfather of Gay

Brace yourselves for one of the biggest LGBT+ events of 2018’s cultural calendar, people! GCN founder and queer activist extraordinaire, Tonie Walsh marches into the Project Arts Centre this November, ready to claim the stage, in the eponymous Am Tonie Walsh.

A show about a living legend by a living legend - this is a call to action about standing up for what is right and being fabulous while doing so.

A legendary DJ and club impresario, Tonie is also a historian, founder of the Irish Queer Archive, and a master storyteller to boot, as anyone who has met him can attest.

This unmissable show will tell of Ireland’s seismic social change from someone who has lived through it.

Tickets for the limited run are selling like whatever the queer version of hotcakes are, so anyone with an interest in LGBT+ culture and history and a bloody great night out (ie everyone) should get booking yesterday!

‘I Am Tonie Walsh’ runs from November 27 to December 1. Tickets are available at Projectartscentre.ie

If your brain is feeling sufficiently rested up after GCN’s epic gay quiz, it’s almost time to test your wits once again at the equally fabulous (and fiendish) Gay Switchboard Ireland’s annual table quiz!

The Great Big Annual GSI Fundraising Quiz will take place in Panti Bar. Teams are advised to brush up on gossip columns and encyclopedias in equal measure.

Relying completely on donations to keep providing their essential service helping the LGBT+ community, the legends at Gay Switchboard Ireland deserve your support. Also, they know how to host a great quiz. So get on down there and exercise that grey matter. All 50 shades.

The Great Big Annual GSI Fundraising Quiz takes place in Panti Bar on Wednesday, 7 November. Tables can be booked on Eventbrite.ie
