We Asked The Team
It’s Fringe time in Dublin city, so
LISA
It has to be the one and only Peaches Christ Superstar, the whole of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s rock opera performed by the legend that is Peaches. Also, bonus after-party vibes hosted by Mother on Saturday, September 22. Winning.
SEÁN
I’m going to see Used To Feel by Ailís Ní Ríain. Described as theatre, live classical music, visual language and movement, it aims to focus on the challenges of communication. I’m really curious about it. It’s also set in a hotel room somewhere in the city. Who doesn’t love a site-specific Fringe show?
KATIE
I’m definitely going to see Overfired by StefanFae and Lady K, which is described as “polemics so hot they make Twink’s answering machine message sound like Anne Doyle on the Six One.”
They will be performing and original song written under the mentorship of Peaches, which can’t wait to hear!
PETER
I’ll be front row centre for My Dad’s Blind by Anna Shiels McNamee, inspired by actual audio recordings between her and her dad. That title might imply a self-pity extravaganza, but Anna is wildly inventive with a jaw-droppingly pitch-black sense of humour.
DAVE
Glitter HOLE in The Complex would be my top-tip on what not to miss… drag, disco, politics and witches, what more could you want? (Plus it’s got our very own Seán in the mix too!)
STEFANO
I’m going to see Split Ends by Lauren Larkin. have a couple of friends who work in hair salons and know that people for some reason tend to share a lot about their private lives while they’re getting their hair did. It’s a very interesting and fun premise for a play and I’m curious to hear the stories of diff erent generations of Dublin women.
