Cork Gay Project Appoints New Coordinator

The Cork Gay Project has announced the appointment of Pádraig Rice as its new coordinator. Pádraig is a graduate of UCC and the University of Oxford. Prior to his appointment he worked as the Parliamentary Assistant to Independent Senator Colette Kelleher.

“I’m really proud to have been appointed to this role to work with and for gay, bi, queer, men who have sex with men and trans men,” says Pádraig.

Our community has been on a historic journey towards full citizenship. Thanks to the collective work of many people, like my predecessor Dave Roche, we have achieved equal rights under the law. However, we still have a way to go to achieve full social, cultural, economic and political inclusion.

“We have a chance to make this the best country in the world for LGBTI citizens. This won’t happen by chance but through change. I’m looking forward to dedicating my energy to helping achieve that change in the time ahead.”
