O'CONNOR'S GAME

We’re loving the insistent ’80s drumbeat underpinning ex-GCN staffer, Robert O’Connor’s latest single, ‘You Found Me’. The song marks O’Connor’s return ot the musical fray after a break of six years, in which he pursued his journalism career. An epiphany at a Calvin Harris concert sparked his move back to his first love.

“I felt like I was jolted back to life,” he says. “It was euphoric, and in that moment I decided I had to make new music, because music is sanity for me; I need that creative outlet to feel alive.”

‘You Found Me’ is the first of two singles, recorded earlier this year and its big anthemic chorus sets out O’Connor’s new stall. “I wanted my Coldplay moment, I wanted to go from the darkness of those verses into a euphoric sing-along moment that makes you feel like it’s all going to be alright,” he says.

It’s released on March 30, and Robert says: “I’m just thrilled to be back in the game”. We thrilled for you, Robert.
